Just wondering if anyone knows about a fix for this, or a fix that makes DirectX not stretch out. exe and change its target because it gives me no option to do so. I can't seem to figure out how to enable the console on the WON version. Rendering from software causes the game to not render AT ALL. Navigate to 'C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonHalf-Life 2hl1cfg' and open userconfig.cfg (if there is none create a text file and rename it that). DirectX 6 works fine without any of those issues however, the resolution is always stretched out to fit the width of my screen so it causes eye strain. Texture-filtering blends textures and is good for modern games, but in games with low-res textures, the textures get blurred. This includes some geometry of the map flickering (Like geometry behind scanners, and some computers) flickering to the point where it causes eye strain, and makes the game unplayable. An example of an existing special texture is the CLIP texture from the Half-Life wads, which is used to create a solid but invisible barrier. To keep it consistent, create a userconfig. gltexturemode GLNEARESTMIPMAPLINEAR glansio 0 glrounddown 0. Half-Life 2 Questions Bugs & Problems how to fix purple textures A Half-Life 2 (HL2) Question in the Bugs & Problems category, submitted by QueenPlaguecure. They do not act like normal textures as they are not rendered, but instead tell the compile tools to perform certain functions. To achieve the OG Textures (which are the better way to play Half-Life) simply type this into the console after enabling svcheats 1. The original Half-Life SDKs compilers dont do this, allowing players to swim inside SKY brushes as if they were water brushes. The problem is that things like blood (human blood, alien blood) in the levels (not the particle when you shoot) are flickering. These are new textures, found in the zhlt.wad file. I've solved most of the issues however, there's ONE problem with rendering making this a pain to run. I have the CD (WON) version of Half-Life from 1998, which runs on 1.0.0.5, and I'm trying to get it to run correctly.
